The Johto Pokédex was introduced in Generation II, when it was called the New Pokédex. It contains 251 Pokémon in Generation II and 256 Pokémon in Generation IV, starting with Chikorita, one of the First partner Pokémon, and ends with Celebi, a Mythical Pokémon. The Johto Pokédex was featured in two generation of games: Pokémon Gold, Silver and Crystal (as the New Pokédex), and Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver. In Gold, Silver, and Crystal, this Pokédex can be accessed by selecting "New Pokédex
